Now that graduation season is approaching many people will be exploring party tent rentals on Long Island for home parties. Skipping the expensive catered party at a hall is a great way to save some money and still host a great party in the comfort of your own home. One that will be enjoyed by all of your guests as well as the graduate. However choosing the right party tent rental for your event can be confusing. So Long Island Party Guys wants to provide you with some helpful information to decide what type of tent you should be renting on Long Island this summer.
The two basic types of tents are pole/rope tents and frame tents. While at first glance they may look the same there are a few differences which can be very important, especially should the weather turn bad. A pole tent relies on ropes tied to poles to hold up the canopy while a frame tent has a “piped” frame structure with roof rafters that support the canopy. Because of this there are no poles in the center of a frame tent as opposed to a pole tent where there could be one or more center poles thereby reducing the efficiency and amount of usable space inside the tent. A frame tent is generally sturdier as well. This means should there be high winds the tent will be less likely to droop or collapse. Finally a frame tent can be placed on hard surfaces such as driveways, decks, and patios while a pole tent will need a soft surface that stakes can be hammered into. For the most part the cost difference is very minor so Long Island Party Guys always recommend renting a frame tent especially in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
The size of the tent is an important consideration. You will want to have a tent that is large enough to hold all of your guests comfortably. To find out what size is best most party rental companies have a chart that will show you a recommended size based on the number of guests. Check out the Long Island Party Guys web page at https://www.lipartyguys.com/tent-packages to find the right size for your event. You will also need to make sure you have enough open space to set up the tent. A general rule of thumb is that you should have an additional 2 feet of length and width in addition to the dimensions of the tent. So for example if you are planning on renting a tent that is 20’ x 30’ you will need an open area with no low hanging branches that is 22’ x 32’. This is an especially important consideration when renting a tent on Long Island where some yards in Nassau County and Suffolk County are small to begin with.
If you also need to rent tables and chairs you should check with your party rental company to see if they offer combined party tent rental packages. Most tent rental companies located in Suffolk County and Nassau County offer package deals that can save you considerable money compared to what the party tent, tables, and chairs would cost if priced individually.
